A Detailed Analysis of Eating Behaviour

چکیده
The eating behaviour of human female volunteers is expressed as bursts of intake and intervening periods of rests and the cumulative intake curve can be modeled by a quadratic equation. The curve is negatively accelerated in some women and linear in others. Hence, women can be divided into decelerated and linear eaters. Here, we have studied the eating behaviour of decelerated and linear female eaters in further detail through analysis of video recordings of the maxillary-mandibular region and recordings of the plates from which the women ate and related these to weight loss data from the plates during meals. While the amount of food eaten is similar, decelerated eaters take fewer and larger mouthfuls per meal than linear eaters and the frequency of mouthful uptake decreases towards the end of the meal. Both types of eaters chew with stable rhythm throughout the meal, with the decelerated eaters chewing faster. Author

Eating Behaviour: Is It Always a Conscious Choice?
in the past 40 years there has been drastic increase in the prevalence of obesity worldwide (1). This rapid increase in the prevalence of obesity is not a matter of physiologic or metabolic alteration within people. Thousands of scientific papers are published each year indicating that pharmaceutical companies are working to find possible money making antiobesity agents. Increasing in the preva...
متن کاملRole of Vaspin in Human Eating Behaviour
OBJECTIVE The adipokine vaspin (visceral adipose tissue derived serine protease inhibitor, serpinA12) follows a meal-related diurnal variation in humans and intracerebroventricular vaspin administration leads to acutely reduced food intake in db/db mice. We therefore hypothesized that vaspin may play a role in human eating behaviour. MATERIALS AND METHODS We measured serum vaspin concentratio...

Introduction: One of the most common problems among women during pregnancy is Urinary Infection (UI). Pregnant women are highly susceptible to UI due to body changes and because of its potential complications on mothers and their fetuses, UI receives particular attention. The current study aimed at investigating the modifiability of behaviour of the pregnant women in the field of urinary infecti...
متن کاملMaternal feeding practices, child eating behaviour and body mass index in preschool-aged children: a prospective analysis
BACKGROUND Previous research has found associations between parental feeding practices and children's eating behaviour and weight status. Prospective research is needed to elucidate these relationships. METHODS One hundred and fifty-six mothers of 2- to 4-year-old children completed questionnaires including measures of maternal feeding practices (pressure to eat, restriction, monitoring and m...

BACKGROUND Escalating weight gain among the Malaysian paediatric population necessitates identifying modifiable behaviours in the obesity pathway. OBJECTIVES This study describes the adaptation and validation of the Children's Eating Behaviour Questionnaire (CEBQ) as a self-report for adolescents, investigates gender and ethnic differences in eating behaviour and examines associations between...
